This project involved designing and populating a full enterprise geodatabase for Maseno University, capturing all campus infrastructure as attributed spatial features. The database was designed following ESRI geodatabase best practices with domains, subtypes, and relationship classes.
Field GPS surveys were conducted across the 700-acre campus to collect coordinates for buildings, roads, walkways, utilities (water pipes, electrical lines), vegetation patches, and amenities. Features were classified into 14 feature classes across 3 feature datasets.
Topology rules were defined and enforced to ensure spatial integrity, ensuring roads connected at intersections, building footprints did not overlap, and utility lines snapped correctly to junction nodes.
Coordinating access to utility infrastructure records required working with the university estates department. Inconsistencies between old blueprints and current campus layout required extensive field verification.
Geodatabase delivered to the Maseno University ICT and Estates Department for facilities management. Project graded A-.
